The basis for the powder coating process is surface preparation for achieving maximum adhesion and finish quality. Cleaning, removing grease, and in some cases, sandblasting are the most common surface preparations. When the surface is prepared, a sprayed charged gun spreads the powder evenly onto the grounded object and thus forms a uniform coating. After the object is subjected to high temperatures in the curing oven, the melt and join together into a solid, hard coat. This results in a flawless surface that is not scratched up and does not fear environmental harm.
